Questions About Flexible, Easy-to-Maintain Column Wraps

Straight answers for parking garage owners, operators and developers.

01

Why are Cingo column wraps called flexible?

+

The name refers to two things. The exterior is a flexible commercial-grade PVC banner material over a foam interior, so the wrap cushions contact, and it is custom fitted so it adapts to the shape and size of each column. Cingo also describes the product as flexible to change: the graphics can be updated by reprinting without rebuilding the protection. Despite the flexibility, Cingo says the wraps are durable and resistant to wear and tear. See the full product specifications.

02

What column shapes and sizes can the wraps fit?

+

Wraps are custom designed and fitted to the structure’s dimensions, whatever they are: square, rectangular, beveled, oval, round, hexagonal and octagonal columns. Typical height is 5 feet, with a maximum of 8 feet. Each wrap is made after a survey of your actual columns, which is how Cingo ensures a perfect fit and avoids the movement that can cause damage. Tell us about any unusual details in your first conversation so they are included in the survey.

03

Can I change the graphics later without replacing the whole wrap?

+

Cingo describes its product as offering cost-efficient reprinting with replacement graphics, so changing the design does not require starting from scratch. That makes a wrap practical for rebranding, a new sponsor, or a seasonal campaign. How a particular update is carried out depends on the installation, so ask Cingo about the process and the cost for your garage when you request a quote. For a sponsor-driven garage, plan reprinting into your contracts from the start.

04

How much maintenance do column wraps need?

+

Cingo describes the upkeep as low cost, and the wraps are easy to maintain. The PVC exterior is water resistant, and the foam core is designed to absorb contact instead of showing damage the way painted concrete does. Because the product is durable, owners do not need to repair or replace the wrap after routine scrapes. Garages with heavy traffic should plan periodic inspections of the columns most often hit. Cingo’s estimated lifespan is 10 to 20 years.

05

How long does installation take, and how disruptive is it?

+

Cingo says the wraps can be installed quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruption to parking operations. Installation uses no drilling or fixtures, and the process is managed from survey and design through production, shipping and installation, with testing on location. The actual time depends on how many columns are involved and which levels you can close. Share your operating hours and access constraints so we can estimate the schedule when we quote.

06

Are the wraps durable enough for a busy garage?

+

Cingo says they are durable and resistant to wear and tear. The foam core is built for the repeated light contact in high-volume decks, and the PVC outer layer is water resistant. Durability is relative to the kind of impact: wraps protect against scrapes, dings and minor abrasions, not against a vehicle moving at speed. The 10 to 20 year estimated lifespan assumes normal parking traffic.

07

What can be customized on a wrap?

+

Design, branding and colors can all be customized, so a facility can match its identity, add wayfinding such as level numbers and zone names, mark reserved or valet areas, or print an advertiser’s message. The size and shape of the wrap are also made to measure. Share your logo files and brand colors at the start, and Cingo’s team prepares the layout. Pricing for custom artwork is part of the project quote.

08

How do flexible wraps compare with steel or rigid column guards?

+

Rigid steel and polymer guards resist impact, but they are not designed to carry branded graphics. A flexible foam-core wrap is custom fitted, cushions contact for the car and the column, and its graphics can be reprinted. A wrap is not a crash barrier, so garages with high-speed risk areas may still need engineered barriers. For a detailed comparison see our column protector page.

09

Do wraps lower long-term costs?

+

Cingo says the combination of low-cost maintenance and cost-efficient reprinting delivers long-term return on investment after installation, and the wraps reduce the need for extensive repairs or replacements. The size of the saving depends on how often your columns are damaged and how much you spend now on repair, repainting and claims. To estimate it, add up what you spent on column repair and vehicle damage claims last year and compare that with a project quote. See column protection versus concrete repair.

10

Can wraps be used for advertising as well as protection?

+

Yes. The same custom wrap can carry advertising or sponsorship, so the garage earns revenue while protecting the column. Reprinting also makes it practical to run campaigns in sequence and replace graphics when a sponsor changes. Read more in our guide to parking garage column wrap advertising, or see the guides for hospital, university and airport garages.

11

How do I request a quote?

+

Contact Cingo at contact@cingos.com or (404) 446-9839, or use the form at the bottom of this page. Tell us the garage location, the number of columns, their shapes and approximate dimensions, and whether you want protection only or protection plus wayfinding or advertising. Cingo prices each project individually after the survey details are known, so the more you share up front, the faster we can respond.
